e-Vidyavahini

Ensuring quality education at scale remains a pressing challenge for states like Jharkhand, where fragmented systems, uneven resource allocation, and inadequate monitoring mechanisms hinder educational outcomes. Despite national efforts through SSA and RTE, the absence of a unified platform to oversee school-level governance, learning outcomes, infrastructure, and equity had created a significant gap in delivering SDG4-aligned education in the state. Periodic assessments like SEQI have underscored these gaps, with Jharkhand scoring 43.91 in overall school quality, ranking 16th among Indian states.

To address this, the Department of School Education and Literacy, under Jharkhand Education Project Council, implemented e-Vidyavahini in February 2019. Developed by CSM Tech, the platform serves as a one-stop, centralized school administration system. It monitors key parameters such as attendance, teacher deployment, infrastructure readiness, mid-day meal coverage, and RTE compliance—empowering the state with real-time insights and better decision-making.
