At CSM Tech, we are committed to making a positive impact on society and empowering the future generations. Our social responsibility programs including but not limited to CSM Synapse and CSM Scholarship are testament to this commitment.
CSM Foundation is our non-profit charitable trust established under the Orissa Co-operative Societies Act 1962. Our aim is to further the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy of CSM Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and its subsidiaries for the benefit of the public at large, without any discrimination on the basis of caste, color, creed, religion, or sex. In our first year of formation, we have initiated two flagship events under our CSR umbrella.
The first initiative is CSM Synapse, an inter-school quiz competition in Bhubaneswar that we organized last year in collaboration with Quizcraft Global. Our event aims to cover more schools across Odisha and India each year, eventually becoming a widespread event.
Our second initiative is the CSM Scholarship, in which we awarded an undergraduate student of IIT Delhi last year as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between our foundation and IIT Delhi administration. In the upcoming years, we aim to provide scholarships not only to IITs but also to IIMs.
Overall, our primary objective is to work towards the betterment of society and improve people's lives through our CSR activities.
CSM Synapse is our flagship platform to enable the school children to showcase their knowledge. Owing to the motto of ‘knowledge is power’, Synapse brings knowledge to the forefront of it all. With partnership with Quizcraft Global, headed by India's renowned Quiz Master Adittya Nath Mubayi and Mudita-Chauhan Mubayi, CSM synapse is CSM’s effort on bringing school children to the limelight on the backs of their knowledge.
The first edition of CSM Synapse involved the top schools of Bhubaneswar with the theme coinciding with Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The children and the audiences witnessed the signature wit of Mr Mubayi while quizzing on the achievements of India @ 75. The CSM Scholarship program is a crucial initiative aimed at promoting education and creating opportunities for students who are financially challenged. It provides financial assistance to deserving students who wish to pursue higher education in premier institutions such as IIT and IIM. This program is a direct effort by CSM Tech to support and empower young individuals who are striving to achieve their academic and career goals.

CSM has started supporting IIT-Madras under the CSM Foundation, the company's non-profit arm that conceptualizes and backs unique and innovative developmental interventions. Last year, it instituted a scholarship at IIT Delhi for the undergrad program, pledging to continue it for a decade. Keeping to that credo, CSM Tech has inked an MoU with IIT Madras to power the ambitious dream of developing a disruptive racecar named ‘Raftar’ underpinned by indigenous capabilities.
Industry partnerships play a pivotal role in the design, development, and adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). The synergy between a tech company like CSM and an academic and research institution of IIT Madras’ repute brings in a string of benefits like shared expertise and resources, cost sharing and risk mitigation, accelerated research and development, standardization and interoperability, policy advocacy, ecosystem development, and knowledge exchange. CSM has been a strong votary of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat as these Government initiatives are aimed at creating and nurturing a virtuous cycle of growth, innovation, and self-reliance.
How did we derive BYOM? As a part of CSM’s green initiative, Bring Your Own Mug (BYOM) was introduced. On digging deeper into the abbreviation BYOM, we found that it’s quite close to the Hindi word VYOM. Vyom means atmosphere, and that’s how BYOM came into the picture. BYOM for CSM meant to cater to the organization’s atmosphere, executing its CSR visions, and leaving an impact on the surroundings. BYOM will care about all; the land, water, air, people, ecosystem and anything else pertaining to these.
BYOM, the brand name for CSM’s CSR, created multiple opportunities for CSM to establish itself as good corporate citizens, improve public image, promote a social or environmental cause and also contribute to real positive impacts for the society.
BYOM is that catalyst which will create a 'responsible' halo around our business and assist in enhanced associations. It’s like a platform of moral uprightness and will establish CSM’s reputation in the minds of customers and employees.

As per research in Cancer@Work study and British Journal of Cancer and International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), 50% of us will get cancer in our lifetime. 50% will be afraid to share this fact at work. But 92% of patients believe the support they get at work positively impacts their health.
To de-stigmatize the way we deal with cancer at our workplace, Publicis Foundation has launched the “Working With Cancer”, a global cross-industry pledge to end the stigma of cancer in the workplace. At CSM, we have always put the well-being and welfare of people first. In continuation of that, we have pledged CSM’s support for #WorkingWithCancer.
We are at the crossroad, a pivotal moment in time where we can change the course of history. Climate change has posed lots of challenges before us, but these challenges can be converted into opportunities to create a better future. The Climate Neutral Now Initiative is one of several initiatives launched by the UNFCCC secretariat to increase climate action by engaging non-Party stakeholders (sub-national governments, companies, organizations, individuals). It brings together companies from around the globe in building a better world. All companies signing the pledge commit to net zero carbon emission by 2040, by agreeing to regular reporting, carbon elimination and credible offset. We can make the future of our choice by taking a leadership role in climate change.

To avoid the worst effects of climate change, science tells us that we must limit global temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius. Taking these simple steps to measure your carbon footprint and go carbon neutral makes a big difference. 322 businesses have committed to The Climate Pledge for transforming the climate crisis into climate action, reaching the goals of the Paris Agreement 10 years early. CSM is one of it to have signed the pledge for net zero carbon emission with a mission to achieve carbon neutrality by 2033 and advocate the use of clean technology for sustainability.
Amazon and Global Optimism announced that more than 300 companies have signed. The Climate Pledge, marking a nearly 600% growth in signatories over the past year. The Climate Pledge is a USD 2 Billion climate fund set up by Jeff Bezos and is the single most influential climate change fighting cohort consisting of world’s top 300 firms like Dassault, Boeing, 3M, Accenture, Berkshire Hathaway, SAP, Google etc. CSM take pride in being one of the company on the list!
As part of the PR activities, Amazon and The Climate Pledge are going to hold the Climate Action NYC, the most influential climate change event after COP26. CSM will be one of the signatories to be announced as Cohort of 2022. The announcements would be covered in different renowned newspapers, TV and social media. The guests at the event will include dozens of Fortune 500 CEOs including Bezos himself and will likely have Accenture chair Julie Sweet, Hathaway boss Warren Buffet and Tesla boss Elon Musk. CSM will be amongst a handful of Asian companies in the list, even lesser from India and the first from Odisha.
CSM has taken a leadership role in the Climate Change Now initiative of UNFCC and as a signatory of the Amazon Climate pledge, is committed to advocating and ensuring green technology for sustainability.
Following the three-step of Climate Change Now i.e –measure, reduce, contribute and report, it has planned to quantify emissions while spotting the main source, identify potential reduction by making the value chain sustainable and choose projects and solutions that ensure the use of clean technology and finally review, report and revise the results for a better outcome. CSM has set a target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2033. Besides ensuring sustainability, it will assist and encourage its stakeholders, partners and clients to be part of the revolutions by designing and using sustainable products and services.
