Digital Platform Recognised for Transforming Higher Education Admissions and Academic Management Across Odisha
CSM Technologies has added another significant recognition to its growing portfolio of GovTech achievements, with Student Academic Management System (SAMS), Odisha, developed and implemented by CSM Technologies for the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, winning the prestigious SKOCH Platinum Award at the 109th SKOCH Summit – “Foundations of Inclusive Growth”, held on September 26, 2026, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
Smt. Mousumi Nayak, Joint Secretary, Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, received the award from Mr. Sameer Kochhar, Chairman, SKOCH Group, recognising SAMS for its contribution to the digital transformation of higher education administration in Odisha. The SKOCH Awards, instituted in 2003, recognise impactful initiatives across governance, technology and development. With a multi-stage evaluation process involving research-based assessment, domain experts and peer evaluation, the awards have emerged as a recognised platform for showcasing technology-led transformation across India.
SAMS, developed by CSM Technologies Limited (NSE: CSM | BSE: 544806), was conceived to address the challenges associated with traditionally manual and fragmented admission processes. The platform introduced a unified digital framework through which students can apply to multiple institutions and streams using a Common Application Form (CAF), while enabling centralised merit-list generation and seat allotment based on predefined admission criteria.
The platform digitises the end-to-end admission journey, covering online applications, e-admissions, fee payments, digital verification and merit-based seat allocation. Beyond improving the student experience, SAMS has strengthened institutional efficiency by reducing dependence on physical applications and manual processing. Its digital architecture also enabled the higher education admission ecosystem to continue functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting remote applications and digital communication when physical interactions were restricted.
The platform has continued to evolve beyond admissions to support wider academic administration and emerging education reforms. Its modular architecture enables it to respond to requirements under NEP 2020, including Academic Bank of Credits integration, advanced analytics and AI-enabled decision-support capabilities.
