CSM Technologies has successfully delivered and launched the Electronic Warehouse Receipt System (eWRS) and Central Registry Platform in Kenya, in partnership with the Warehouse Receipt System Council (WRSC) and TradeMark Africa (TMA).
The system was officially launched on February 25, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi, during a ceremony held from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM. The launch was formally announced by Dr. Juma Mukwana, Honorable Principal Secretary, Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, marking a significant milestone in Kenya’s agricultural and trade modernization journey.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including Her Excellency Diana Dalton, British High Commission; Mr. Patrick Mukundi Mbogo, Chairman, Warehouse Receipt System Council; Ms. Lucy Komen, CEO, Warehouse Receipt System Council; and Ms. Lillian Mwai-Ndegwa, Country Director, TradeMark Africa, alongside senior government leaders, development partners, financial institutions, and key commodity stakeholders.
The eWRS operationalizes the Warehouse Receipt System Act of 2019 through a secure, centralized digital registry. Designed and implemented by CSM, the platform replaces manual processes with an end-to-end digital system managing certification, receipt issuance, pledging, transfer, and settlement.
By enabling real-time verification of warehouse receipts, the system strengthens regulatory oversight, reduces lending risk for financial institutions, and expands access to structured financing for farmers and traders. The platform integrates with national identity and tax systems, as well as the Kenya Multi-Commodities Exchange (KOMEX), ensuring interoperability across the commodity ecosystem.
This launch reinforces CSM’s growing footprint in Africa’s GovTech and digital trade transformation landscape. By delivering secure, scalable, and regulation-aligned digital platforms, CSM continues to support governments in building transparent, efficient, and financially inclusive ecosystems.
The platform is now live and accessible nationwide to licensed warehouse operators, financial institutions, and agricultural depositors.
