CSM Technologies' support for the Kalinga Literary Festival grew from a conviction that literature is not a luxury but a lifeline. It is the force that connects a civilization to its past, makes sense of its present, and imagines its future. For a state like Odisha, which carries a literary tradition spanning over 2,000 years and the distinction of being home to one of India's six classical languages, that lifeline deserves to be strengthened, celebrated, and shared. CSM's partnership with KLF 2024 was a deliberate step in that direction, rooted in a commitment to promoting rich cross-cultural inclusivity and ensuring that voices from diverse backgrounds are heard and valued.
The 10th edition of the Kalinga Literary Festival, held from February 9 to 11, 2024, at Swosti Premium Hotel in Bhubaneswar, was a gathering of remarkable scale and ambition. Virtually inaugurated by Odisha's Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik as Chief Guest, the festival brought together over 300 visionaries spanning more than 25 languages and welcomed distinguished speakers from four nations including Japan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. Legendary literary figures such as Padma Bhushan and Jnanpith recipient Sitakanta Mohapatra, celebrated authors including Amish Tripathi and Nasira Sharma, artists, scientists, and cultural icons converged to explore two powerful central themes, Legends of Ancient Bharat and Beyond and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Literature. Alongside the literary festival, the Kalinga Art Festival brought the creative energy of 60 remarkable artists to the same stage, making it a truly comprehensive celebration of India's cultural and intellectual life.
By choosing to associate with KLF 2024, CSM aligned itself with a platform that has done the consistent work of bringing Odisha's literary identity to a national and global audience. This association reflects a broader thread in CSM's approach to CSR — that cultural investment is development in its truest form. The stories a people tells about itself, the language it thinks in, and the literature it produces are not separate from progress. They are the foundation of it. CSM's support for KLF 2024 is one step in what the organization hopes will be a continuing journey of standing alongside institutions that keep Odisha's cultural spirit alive, visible, and growing.
