Cooperative Management Information System

The Rwanda Cooperative Agency is a public institution in charge of regulating and promoting economic, social, and other activities of the general interest of Rwanda. To develop the cooperative sector such as it serves its members equitably, and efficiently and empowers them economically. RCA is also mandated to implement Government policy in matters relating to cooperatives or- organizations in Rwanda. To effectively achieve this particular mandate, and efficiently manage research funds, and other activities, as well as promote the cooperative organizations sector. Cooperatives are a unique form of self-help group, pooling members’ resources to achieve economies of scope and scale while serving as a platform for policy dialogue and multi-dimensional promotion of the members’ wellbeing.

With that regard, RCA promotes business entrepreneurship in the cooperative organizations sector through the CMIS system. The system assists in the efficient management of cooperative organizations, as well as provides an online platform for cooperatives to apply for registration. RCA also ensures the application of laws governing cooperative organizations and other laws those cooperative organizations are requested to observe.
